Become part of the most knowledgeable O&M and technical due diligence team in the nation.
Imagine waking up every day to something new and exciting, all while getting paid to do what you love. That’s what it’s like working as a field tech for PV Pros. A leading nationwide commercial and utility scale solar O&M and technical due diligence company, PV Pros handles the technical aspects of solar while our clients reap the benefits. We grew out of a construction firm and now solely focus on O&M and technical due diligence, allowing us to take a more technical approach to asset management. PV Pros would be nothing without our field techs, so we sat down with two of our field techs to learn why they love coming to work each day.
Q: What attracted you to PV Pros?
A: One of the first things that stood out to me was how educated the PV Pros team was about commercial solar. With over 100 years experience just in our management team, I knew I would be learning from them every day. Aside from that, the competitive wages and great benefits, like health insurance and a great 401K, allow me to provide for myself and my family while enjoying what I do.
Q: What does a typical day look like?
A: The best part of the job is that each day brings something different. There’s no worry about repetitiveness or mundane work because each project requires different skills. One day we could be repairing an inverter, and the next day we could be completely removing a system for roof repairs. Each job is scheduled a few days beforehand, so you know what you’re getting into without surprises.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for PV Pros?
A: There’s always something new, which makes the job anything but boring. We also work with a great team of intelligent professionals, providing the opportunity to learn from each other. Our team is supported by a 20+ person engineering firm with over 175 years of experience, with some engineers coming from inverter companies. This knowledge allows us to take on any project with ease and confidence. I wake up excited to go to work because I know there’s a chance I’ll learn something new. I also love the autonomy we have – there’s no micromanaging which is empowering.
